Paper comes from trees, trees with grain and knots, with these works I've taken these books back to where it came from by slicing the books up and gluing them together where the edges of the pages form the grain. knots are embedding in this new wood where the pages have become twisted and buckled. They have a pleasing look with a depth that urges you to look deeply into the new grain, explore what is there. The source material is old telephone books, whose pages are thin and vast. Just like the rings of a tree telling a story about its history, the names and phone numbers on the pages of the telephone books tell their own stories. Both of these pieces are available for £50 each
