This building in the Whitehall/St George area of Bristol has fasinated me for a while. It is on the edge of an industrial estate surrounded by houses. It is so out of place, towering above everything else. There is no way it would have got planning permission these days. It is also largely diserted with only Maverick Studios rehersal room on the lower floors. Maybe that is why I like it, aspects of The New Old and the contrast between it and its surrounding. I hope the orange lines help to highlight that fact. For some reason I was going through a bit of an orange phase while doing these. Not for sale
The New Old 1
Even the relatively new can quickly become dated and old. This is a build on the Broomhill Industrial estate in Bristol and I sometimes run past. It's in a beautiful state of disuse, although there has been some activity near it recently. It's probably 1970s build, so only about 40 years old, but because of the style and condition is regarded as old. Not for sale

Half Full
In about 2006 I went with my sister to what was my local Mecca Bingo at that point in my life. It wasn't an experience I particularly enjoyed, but it was one that a lot of others did, and some put a lot of faith in. They are the hopeful, the ones who will always look optimistically at their cards as they check off numbers, hoping that soon they will get a line or even a full house. This is one of a series of three. £20 unframed, £30 framed
